DOR CAV
The Dor Cav is a ground breaking GRP structural cavity closer that stands as the first structurally rated solution to support insulation and screed over a cavity wall, specifically beneath an external door opening. This innovative product addresses the shortcomings of previous inferior methods, and with larger cavities now being specified in homes, there has never been a more important time to resolve this issue.
STRUCTURALLY DESIGNED
Structurally designed and rated to EN 1991-1-1 2002 Eurocode 1 actions on structures and rigorously tested to British and EU regulation standards BS EN 13706.
QUICK INSTALLATION
Fast and easy installation creates savings on labour and material costs.
NO COLD BRIDGING
No more thermal cold bridging over the cavity. Previous inferior solutions such as filling the cavity with concrete or wood causes cold thermal bridging problems. With the recent changes to Part L of the Building Regulations in December 2021, emphasising the need for energy-efficient homes to meet the UK's Net Zero targets, this product emerges as a key contributor to achieving these goals.

FAQ
The Dor Cav is designed to be used on cavity widths ranging from 150mm down to 75mm.
The Dor Cav should be the same length as the door opening width or the nearest size up. For example, on a door opening of 900mm wide you would require a 1000mm Dor Cav that can then be cut down to 900mm on site.
We sell lengths of 1000mm, 1800mm and 2400mm. Note that Dor Cav’s can be abutted together on wider opening such as doors over 2400mm. For example, on a door opening that is 3200mm wide this would require 1 x 1000mm and 1 x 2400mm.

No, the Dor Cav is designed to sit under the insulation and screed to support it. It has not been designed to sit above this at finished ground floor level.
